Dow futures tick higher, Urban Outfitters lifts 5.3% after earnings

U.S. stock futures were trading little higher during Tuesday’s evening trades as investors shifted their attention to impending corporate earnings announcements from businesses including NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA), following a mixed morning for the main benchmark averages. The Dow Jones Futures, S&P 500 Futures, and Nasdaq 100 Futures were all trading 0.1% higher by 6:50 p.m. ET (10:50 p.m. GMT).

Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ: URBN) gained 5.3% in extended trading after announcing Q2 earnings per share of $1.10 versus $0.89 anticipated and revenues of $1.27 billion versus $1.25 billion anticipated. After reporting Q1 earnings per share of $0.62 versus $0.54 expected and revenues of $482 million versus $476.2 million projected, La-Z-Boy Incorporated (NYSE: LZB) declined 3.3%. After reporting Q3 earnings per share of $3.73 versus $2.84 expected and revenues of $2.69 billion versus $2.4 billion projected, Toll Brothers (NYSE: TOL) gained 0.6%. Market players will closely watch building permits, new home sales, as well as manufacturing and services PMIs, ahead of Wednesday’s session.

On the bond markets, the 10-year Treasury rate for the United States increased to 4.332%, a new 15-year high.
