Northern Trust Corporation (NTRS) stock rose 13% as the financial services firm announced excellent net interest income growth due to rising interest rates.

AT&T

AT&T (T) stock rose 8.5% after concerns about lead contamination in its cables subsided. This week, shares fell to their lowest level in three decades as a result of these concerns. 

Constellation Brands

Constellation Brands (STZ) shares increased 5% after the alcoholic beverage maker reached an agreement with activist investor Elliott Investment and appointed two new independent board members.

Elevance Health

Elevance Health (ELV) stock rose 4% after the health insurance provider exceeded earnings and sales forecasts and raised its full-year projection, owing to greater medical insurance premiums and lower payouts than projected.

Cisco Systems

Cisco Systems (CSCO) gained 2% following a JPMorgan upgrade indicating that orders are nearing a trough and may be on the upswing.

Tapestry (TPR) shares fell 2% after OTR Global downgraded the company to “mixed” from “positive.”

Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG) shares fell 8% after the ad agency restructured its Kinesso data and technology arm.

Microsoft

Microsoft (MSFT) shares fell 1% after the software giant announced that it would give away some advanced cybersecurity tools in response to criticism from US regulators that the business was charging for the protection.
